7. Blowup (1966)
This 1966 mystery-thriller film by Michelangelo Antonioni is about a fashion photographer who unwittingly captures a murder on film. Blowup was Antonioni’s first entirely English language film. It was a critical and box office success. The Time magazine described the film as a “far-out, uptight and vibrantly exciting picture. Kundan Shah’s cult 1983 satire Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro borrowed its premise from Blowup.
