6. Apur Sansar (1959)
The last part of the Apu Trilogy which is frequently listed among the best films in international cinema. Besides the three National Film Awards, Apur Sansar was a rage at Cannes, Berlin, and Venice. The entire trilogy has been considered a milestone in Indian cinema. The film narrates the story of a grownup Apu (the main protagonist in the series) and how he comes to terms with life after his wife’s death.
