Soumitra Chatterjee films

In what is widely considered to be the best Stanislavski approach to acting in Bengali cinema, Soumitra plays a paralytic doctor in a hospital for the differently-abled. He practiced using a wheelchair for months. The actor realised that someone sitting on a wheelchair always looks up while speaking which become a natural posture over time. He has always said that besides Satyajit Ray, it was Tapan Sinha who brought out the best in him. The film was about the doctor helping in the rehab of a raped girl (played by Laboni Sarkar).
