Nafisa Ali Diagnosed with Cancer
RBN Web Desk: Veteran actress Nafisa Ali has been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. The actress took to the social media to reveal her health condition.
Nafisa shared a picture with former Congress president Sonia Gandhi, and wrote, “Just met my precious friend who wished me luck & to get well with my just diagnosed stage 3 cancer.”
Nafisa Ali is considered one of the most versatile celebrities in India. She is a three-time national swimming champion, having won the crown for three consecutive years from 1972 to 1974. She also represented the country in the Miss International content and became the second runner-up. That aside, she was also a jockey at the Calcutta Gymkhana in 1979.
The 61-year old actress made her big screen appearance in director Shyam Benegal’s 1978 film Junoon. She has since worked with several leading directors including Anurag Basu, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Tinnu Anand, and others.
