Last Leg of El Dorado Begins

RBN Web Desk: The last leg shooting of Professor Shonku O El Dorado, the first film to feature the eccentric fictional inventor created by author-filmmaker Satyajit Ray, has begun in Amazon. The adventure-science fiction film is being directed by the auteur’s son Sandip Ray and is based on the story Nakur Babu O El Dorado.

Veteran actor Dhritiman Chatterjee plays the title role in the film, while Subhasish Mukherjee plays Nakur Babu who has extrasensory powers.

In fact, Sandip missed the screening of the digitally restored prints of the Apu Trilogy at the Kolkata International Film Festival this year, since he is away on the El Dorado shoot.

The last part of the shoot is supposed to be the most gruelling since the schedule involves filming in the dense Amazonian forests. The film has also been shot at Kolkata, Giridih, and Bolpur.

Professor Shonku o El Dorado is slated to release in the first half of 2019.
