Dev Adopts a Never-Before Branding Strategy for Kabir Promotion
Kolkata: In what could be the first of its kind branding activity for any film made in India, Bengali actor Dev has announced that people watching his upcoming film Kabir, will be given ₹100 worth of free talktime on their mobile phone recharge. The film, directed by Aniket Chattopadhyay, is being bankrolled by Dev’s production company.
The actor has entered into a marketing arrangement with one of India’s biggest retail hypermarket chains that have a partnership with a leading telecom services company. Mobile phone subscribers of that company can avail the free recharge on producing the counterfoil of the show ticket of Kabir.
Dev is promoting the film exhaustively on social media and non-conventional channels. He had earlier carried out a mock drill with a special task force (STF) team of Kolkata Police at a south Kolkata mall as part of the Kabir promotion activities.
Dev, along with Priyanka Sarkar, Rukmini Maitra and Shataf Figar, play major roles in Kabir.
The film opens on 13 April.
