Swastika Spits Anger on Dupur Thakurpo 2 Producer

RBN Web Desk: Popular actress Swastika Mukherjee has vented her ire on the producers of Dupur Thakurpo 2 and blamed them for the lack of professionalism in carrying forward the web-series. The series is streamed on a popular on-demand digital entertainment platform.

The second season of Dupur Thakurpo, which is already under production, has Antara Biswas aka Mona Lisa in the title role of Uma Boudi which has now been rechristened as Jhuma Boudi. Antara is a popular Bhojpuri star and has also appeared in a Bangladeshi film.

Besides Swastika, some of the other actors who appeared in the first season, are unlikely to reprise their roles in Dupur Thakurpo 2.

It may be recalled that Swastika appeared in the title role of Uma Boudi in the first season of Dupur Thakurpo. The story of the series is about an elderly man who brings home a much younger wife and the hilarious incidents that follow involving the couple and their six bachelor tenants.

Swastika alleged that the producers failed to come up with a proper script and a director even after four months of negotiations. She went on to remind that arrogance and false pride has killed (sic) several people in the industry.

Incidentally, Swastika’s social media post came on 6 April, the same day Antara was introduced by the production house as the new Uma Boudi at an event in Kolkata.
