Urmila Matondkar Likely to Contest Lok Sabha Polls
RBN Web Desk: Hindi film actress Urmila Matondkar is likely to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls on a Congress ticket. The party, in all probability, would field Urmila in the Mumbai North constituency against Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Gopal Shetty.
Senior Mumbai Regional Congress leader, Sanjay Nirupam, told the media yesterday that they are in talks with 45-year old actress. Local Congress leaders have requested her to contest the Mumbai North parliamentary seat. Congress in confident that Urmila will accept the offer, the former lawmaker said.
Urmila, a prominent actress in Hindi cinema, has worked with several leading directors. She is also known for her humanitarian work for women and underprivileged children.
