Agnimitra Paul Joins BJP

Kolkata: Leading fashion designer Agnimitra Paul has joined the West Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). State BJP president Dilip Ghosh welcomed her by presenting a scarf while the minister of state for urban development, Babul Supriyo, gave her a bouquet.

Agnimitra officially joined BJP at an event held at the National Library auditorium today.

Rewind: 30 Years of Mile Sur Mera Tumhara

Agnimitra got her first big break in the 2002 film Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe where she designed the costume for Esha Deol. She was also the costume designer for Via Darjeeling (2008) and many other Hindi films. That aside, she has worked in several Bengali films with leading directors. She has also worked with celebrities like Mithun Chakraborty, Rituparna Sengupta, Swastika Mukherjee, Koel Mallick and others.

Agnimitra is likely to contest the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
