RBN Web Desk: Adventure heist films seem to be the flavour of the season and the first one to release this summer is director Sayantan Ghosal’s Alinagarer Golokdhadha. The film has Anirban Bhattacharya and Parno Mittra in the lead. This is for the first time that the Anirban-Parno pair will appear on the big screen.
Speaking to the media recently, Anirban said, Sougata Basu has come up with a killer script and that’s what interested him to sign the film.
A lot of research has gone into the scripting of Alinagarer Golokdhadha. Incidentally, Calcutta (now Kolkata) was renamed Alinagar when the last independent Nawab of Bengal Siraj ud-Daulah, wrested control over the city from the East India Company in June 1756. The battle later came to be known as the Siege of Calcutta.
Anirban has already worked with Sayantan in the successful Byomkesh web-series.
According to Sayantan, his first film Jawker Dhan (2017) was more fictional, whereas Alinagarer Golokdhadha is based on historical facts. That was the most challenging part, before the camera rolled, he added.
Parno hailed Sayantan as a talented director who is extremely passionate about his work. He never spoke too much but had everything planned in his mind. She echoed Anirban regarding the script.
Music for the film is composed by Meemo.
Alinagarer Golokdhadha opens on 20 April.
