Ranadeep Back with New Film, Explores Live-In Relationships
Kolkata: Director Ranadeep Sarker is back with ‘Vivir Juntos’, a short film that explore the void in live-in relationships. The film has Mumtaz Sorcar and Saptrishi playing the two protagonists Sonali and Vicky respectively.
Speaking to RBN, Ranadeep said, “Most young people of the present generation are commitment phobic. They view a live-in relation as a casual stint. Relationships these days begin on the social media, burgeons at a restaurant, and ends in a hotel room booked on smartphones. Indians, while aping the West, are forgetting their ethos. A live-in relationship, to millennials, is mostly about satisfying their carnal desires.”
Mumtaz will be working with Ranadeep for the second time after ‘Not A Dirty Film’ (2015). Saptrishi has played major roles in television serials like ‘Balika Vadhu’, ‘Bade Achhe Lagte Hain’, ‘Daag’ and others.

The film centres around a conversation that takes place between Sonali and Vicky. Bitter truths come out as the evening progresses with several twists in the narrative. The film has been shot in Lucknow and is currently in the post-production stage.
“’Vivir Juntos’ is an international project in the sense that it will be released both in Hindi and English. That aside, the name is Spanish, which means living together. We will release the film online,” Ranadeep said. He plans to send the film to various festivals.
