Hunt for El Dorado to Begin in Bolpur

Kolkata: Filmmaker Sandip Ray is all set to start shooting for his upcoming mega-budget adventure-science fiction film Professor Shonku O El Dorado in May. The film is based on the story Nakur Babu O El Dorado written by Satyajit Ray.

Well placed sources in the industry told RBN today that the first phase of the shooting is likely to begin at Bolpur, followed by Deoghar, and then in the city. Preproduction for the film is already complete and Sandip has reportedly insisted the production house not to delay the project any further. There will be a short break after the first schedule, following which the unit will head to Brazil to can the rest of the outdoor shoot, sources added.

This is the first time that Trilokeshwar Shonku, more popularly known as Professor Shonku, will hit the big screen. Veteran actor Dhritiman Chatterjee will play the title role of the eccentric scientist and inventor.

Professor Shonku is one of the most popular characters in Bengali fiction.
