Arun Bhaduri No More
Kolkata: Classical music exponent Arun Bhaduri, who was rushed to the hospital on 11 December following deteriorating health, passed away early today morning. He was 80.
Bhaduri was admitted to a private hospital near Minto Park with a major lung infection. Attending doctors, on Sunday, informed the media that the singer’s health had worsened in the last few days. He was unable to breathe normally because of the infection. That aside, he was also suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). He was under ventilation in the hospital’s intensive care unit, and was having multi-organ failure issues, doctors added.

Known for his sonorous voice and a brilliant range, Bhaduri was one of the most well-respected and revered musicians in the city. He had tutored and mentored hundreds of students who went on to become leading singers of the country. He was a senior teacher at the city-based ITC Sangeet Research Academy. Bhaduri had widely performed at concerts in India and abroad.
