Veteran Actor Partha Mukhopadhyay No More
Kolkata: Veteran film and television actor Partha Mukhopadhyay died of cardiac arrest, after a brief illness, at a private hospital in the city early today morning. He was 70.
Partha Mukhopadhyay is famously remembered for his role as Bagola in Dhanyee Meye (1971). He played matinee idol Uttam Kumar’s brother in the film.

Partha made his film debut as a child actor in the 1956 film Maa, directed by renowned filmmaker Chitta Basu. He followed it up with a brilliant performance in the Tapan Sinha directed film Atithi (1966). He was mostly seen in supporting roles in several hit films like Apanjan (1968), Bagh Bandi Khela (1975), and Balika Badhu (1976). He also played a major role in the hit television serial Janani, broadcast in the mid-nineties.
