New Treasure Hunt Film Ready to Hit Screens

RBN Web Desk: A new treasure hunt film from director Sayantan Ghosal is all set to hit the big screen next month. The filmmaker had earlier adapted popular Bengali novelist Hemendra Kumar Roy’s Jokher Dhon in a modern retelling. The film, titled Jawker Dhan, released last year and was a moderate box office success.

Sayantan is now ready with his next film Alinagarer Golokdhadha and the production house recently released the first look poster on Twitter.

According to the director, the film will shed light on many lesser-known historical facts in and around Kolkata.

Swastika Walks Out of Dupur Thakurpo

A major part of the film was canned at the Nimtita Rajbari, the location for Satyajit Ray’s 1958 classic Jalsaghar, which had Chabbi Biswas playing the iconic role of a decadent zamindar in early 20th century Bengal.

50 Years of Chowringhee

Alinagarer Golokdhadha has Anirban Bhattacharya and Parno Mittra in the lead. While Anirban plays a history student, Parno has been cast as a granddaughter of a zamindar family. Actor Kaushik Sen will play a key role in the film.
