RD Burman Heard in Brussels
RBN Web Desk: Nearly a quarter of a century since he breathed his last, there seems to be no ebb in popularity of maverick composer RD Burman. Widely credited to have ushered in an international sound in mainstream Hindi film music, RD Burman was, and is still considered one of the most influential music directors in India.
And now, in what is likely to come as a major surprise to his fans, some musicians were recently found playing Burman’s music at a street corner in Brussels. They spotted Indian listeners among the audience and impromptu started playing Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko from Nasir Hussain’s 1973 film Yaadon Ki Baaraat.

Incidentally, the song was inspired by an English song “if it’s Tuesday it must be Belgium”. An apt song indeed to play in the capital of Belgium
