Police Complaint Filed Against Nawazuddin, Anurag Kashyap
RBN Web Desk: Producer-director Anurag Kashyap and actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui seems to be heading for a brush with the law. According to sources, a written complaint has been filed at the Girish Park police station in Kolkata against Anurag and Nawazuddin over alleged objectionable content in the web-series Sacred Games.
Nawazuddin plays a character named Ganesh Gaitonde in the web-series which is broadcast on a popular on-demand digital entertainment portal. Sacred Games is directed by Anurag and Vikramaditya Motwane. Besides Nawazuddin, the web-series has Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte, and Surveen Chawla in other major roles.
Rajib Sinha, the complainant, has alleged that the character played by Nawazuddin has described former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi as ‘fattu.’ The English translation used in the subtitles is far more derogatory, Sinha alleged, adding that the entire government in power at that time has been shown in a poor light in the web-series.
