Parambrata to Play Extortionist in New Film
RBN Web Desk: Actor-director Parambrata Chatterjee is all set to play an extortionist in a new film which is being directed by Subir Mondal. Shooting for the film, titled Shortcut, has already started in New Town.
Parambrata has been cast as slum dweller Bishu, while Gaurav Chakrabarty will be seen as a poet named Abesh in the film. One day, they witness a person commit suicide by jumping in front a speeding bus, as a last resort to escape starvation. Bishu and Abesh are shaken by the incident. But Bishu strikes upon an idea. Since he is fired from every job, Bishu hatches a plan to earn quick money by jumping in front of running cars, pretend to be seriously injured, and demand money from the passengers. Abesh quits writing poetry and starts to make a film on Bishu and soon the story takes a different turn.
Shortcut also has senior theatre actor Chandan Sen and prominent Bangladeshi actress Apu Biswas in other major roles.
The story of the film has been written by singer-songwriter Nachiketa Chakraborty. He has also composed the music for the film.
Shortcut will release later this year.
