Siddhartha Chatterjee in Tagore Adaptation
RBN Web Desk: Siddhartha Chatterjee, best known for his role as Topse in the two Feluda films directed by Satyajit Ray, is all set to be seen in an adaptation of a Rabindranath Tagore story. The short film, Jibito O Mrito, is directed by Abhra Chakraborty and is based on Tagore’s story of the same name.
Abhra has adapted the story in the present day context, which will show the journey of a model and actress Gayatri, who in convinced that none can play better Kadambini than her. Kadambini is the central character in the story.
Siddhartha Chatterjee has been cast as veteran director Rajsekhar in the film, while popular Kolkata-based model Mouli Haldar plays Gayatri. She plays a conscience-call of Rajsekhar. Gayatri confronts Rajsekhar over the selection of a senior actress as Kadambini in one of his films.

Chatterjee made a comeback on the big screen with Anjan Dutt’s film Madly Bangali in 2009, after playing Topse in Ray’s Sonar Kella (1974) and Joi Baba Felunath (1979). He was briefly seen in Sandip Ray’s Hitlist (2009) and has since appeared in several other films.
