New Kolkata Band Plays for BSF

RBN Web Desk: Maya Nagari, a new Kolkata band, has earned a rare honour by playing for the BSF recently. The four-member band has Suman Chatterjee as composer and lead vocalist, Subrata Acharya on lead guitar, Subhodip Bhattacharjee on bass guitar, and Sourav Saha on the drums.

Maya Nagari debuted as a fusion band about three years back and has held a number of live shows until now. The band usually does cover numbers with its own arrangements, interspersed with original compositions.

The band recently uploaded a single on its YouTube channel. The song—Kothay Amar Kolkata—aims to strike a chord with non-resident Bengalis who miss their hometown. The members also paid a rich tribute to India’s national heroes with their Hindi single Bharat Maa.

Mayangari has several shows lined up in the coming days.
