Miss Transqueen Winner Nitasha Biswas set for TV Debut
RBN Web Desk: Nitasha Biswas, winner of the inaugural Miss Transqueen India contest in 2017, is all set to make her debut on the small screen, in a show titled Dating in the Dark. Nitasha firmly believes that transwomen in India have to battle rejections all through their life.
Dating in the Dark is a reality TV show where an equal number of men and women stay in a house under complete darkness. Night-vision cameras capture their movement as they date each other.

The transgender population in India, according to Nitasha, is used to rejections. They face it everywhere including their workplace, family, and friends. But love cuts across gender, and a positive attitude and confidence helps in taking up the challenges, she said in a statement.
Nitasha, a Bengali, was born and brought up in Kolkata. She later moved to Delhi to pursue a higher degree in fashion and a career in modelling.
The transformation process was never easy, Nitasha said, since the hormone replacement therapy (HRT) takes a physical and emotional toll on the body. There’s a phase in the HRT process when a person has both female and male attributes, and it was impossible for her to even step out of the house at that time, the 26-year old model said.
