I Had Kept Quiet Long Enough: Sayantika Banerjee
RBN Web Desk: Actress Sayantika Banerjee has said that she had kept quiet for long regarding her deteriorating relationship with actor Joy Mukherjee. But since the latter has demeaned her in public, time has now come to reveal the truth, she said.
Joy was arrested by Kolkata Police on 7 July on charges of assaulting the actress. He was later released on bail. The case is now under investigation.

According to Sayantika, Joy had created trouble at least twice earlier. He had hurled expletives at Sayantika’s mother at their Salt Lake residence in her absence. Later, he created trouble at their south Kolkata flat, the actress said, adding that she never wanted a mudslinging in public and had maintained silence all along. But things turned for the worse when Joy tried to forcibly drag the actress out from the car in the middle of the road. and abused her manager, Sayantika told the media.

The 31-year old actress said, lately, she noticed several derogatory comments against her on social media. But she ignored these comments to maintain her dignity. She never wanted any disrepute to Joy. Sayantika said, she didn’t want their personal fallout to affect their profession, but had to seek police help out of compulsion.

Sayantika and Joy were in a relationship for eight years and recently went separate ways.
The actress said that there has been no such incident between them that would prompt Joy to assault her. She and her family wanted to resolve the differences mutually. Unfortunately Joy didn’t want to tread these lines. They made a number of joint investments in property and other assets since they had planned to get married. However, most of these have now been sorted out and liquidated since they are no longer together, she said.
