Earrings Deterrent for Shaheb Bhattacharjee as Feluda?
RBN Web Desk: Popular film and television actor Shaheb Bhattacharjee is probably in the run for those being considered to play the role of Prodosh Chandra Mitter aka Feluda, the iconic fictional detective created by author-filmmaker Satyajit Ray, on the big screen. The first Feluda story—Feludar Goendagiri—appeared in the children’s magazine Sandesh in 1965.
Shaheb played Feluda’s cousin and assistant Topshe in Gorosthane Sabdhan (2010), Royal Bengal Rahasya (2011) and Double Feluda (2016). All three films were directed by the auteur’s son Sandip Ray.

A leading English news portal quoted Shaheb as having said that Feluda will be a dream role for him and he has already spoken to Sandip in this regard. The actor claimed that the director has reportedly given him one condition, and that is to get rid of his earrings to be considered for the role of Feluda, the portal added.
The first Feluda film, Sonar Kella, released in 1974. Soumitra Chatterjee played the sleuth’s role in the film. Since then, Sabyasachi Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee have played Feluda on the big screen.
