Critical, Dwijen Mukhopadhyay Re-Admitted to Hospital

Kolkata: Veteran singer Dwijen Mukhopadhyay was rushed to the SSKM Hospital in the city yesterday, following deterioration in his health. He is reportedly suffering from severe lung infection and prostrate problems.

Earlier, the 90-year old singer was admitted to the same hospital in August, because of similar complications. He was discharged after a few days of treatment.

A medical board has been formed to look after the ailing singer.  Doctors attending him are diagnosing whether he has pneumonia.

Some sources claimed that the singer’s condition is critical mainly due to his advanced age. He has been kept in the Woodburn Ward at SSKM.

A medical board briefing is expected later today.
