Closure Threat Looms Large on Top Bengali TV Serials
RBN Web Desk: With their producer behind bars, at least two top Bengali TV serials now face the threat of closure and could be taken off air anytime now, according to industry sources. Which means, those involved with these two projects, will be out of work for no fault of their own.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), yesterday, arrested businessmen Koustav Roy and Shibaji Panja for their alleged involvement in a ₹515 crore bank fraud case. Shibaji was one of the leading producers of Bengali TV programmes. His production company, Vandana Films, had financed two hugely popular serials, Resham Jhanpi and Shubho Drishti, currently being aired on Colors Bangla.
