Chitrangada Wins Major International Award
RBN Web Desk: Chitrangada Chakraborty, all set to be seen in director Pratim D Gupta’s upcoming film Ahare Mon, has won a major international award. She has been adjudged the best actress at the 2018 New Jersey Indian and International Film Festival (NJIIFF) which concluded yesterday. She won the award for her performance in director Aditya Kripalani’s 2017 film Tikli and Laxmi Bomb.
This is the second award that the actress has won for the same film. She had earlier won the best female debutante award at this year’s Jaipur International Film Festival.

Tikli and Laxmi Bomb is about two sex workers who decide to oust men from the system. They form a cooperative society comprising only women to coordinate and run the trade and battle patriarchy.
Chitrangada plays Tikli in the film. Suchitra Pillai and Mayur More play other major roles in the film.
Tikli and Laxmi Bomb also won the festival’s choice best film award at the NJIIFF.
Ahare Mon opens on 22 June.
