Parno Mittra to Play Investigative Scribe

RBN Web Desk: Popular actress Parno Mittra is all set to play an investigative journalist in a new film to be broadcast on a popular on-demand digital entertainment platform. The film, titled Chupkatha, is being directed by Rick Basu.

According to sources, the first phase of the shooting has already been completed in Kurseong, and the next phase will soon begin in Kolkata. Parno is playing the lead role of Shivangi.

Chupkatha is a thriller and centres around the sudden disappearance of a child. The only clues to the incident are a mobile phone and a strange looking house. Shivangi starts investigating the case of the missing child and recovers an old Nokia 5110 handset. New mysteries emerge one by one. The pieces soon start falling into place leading to a twist in the end.

According to Parno, shooting in the Kurseong hills was challenging, with the frequent rains and fog covering the entire area.

Rick had earlier directed Devi (2017) which was a re-adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic novel Devdas.
