Chinmoy Roy Shifted to Step Down Unit, Improving

RBN Web Desk: Veteran actor Chinmoy Roy, who suffered multiple injuries after falling from the fourth floor terrace at his Lake Gardens apartment in south Kolkata, has been shifted to the step down unit as his health condition improved in the last few days. He was earlier kept in the intensive treatment unit (ITU) at a private hospital.

According to hospital sources, Roy’s condition has improved remarkably and he is now speaking to his family regularly. A minor surgery was carried out on the 77-year old actor and he also received 15 stitches on his head. He had suffered major fractures on both his legs, particularly in the femur and upper limb region. While he is out of danger, Chinmoy Roy will require more time to fully recover because of his age, sources added.

The actor was found lying on the ground outside his apartment in a pool of blood on 30 June. His neighbours rushed him to the hospital.

According to Chinmoy’s son Sankha Roy, his father was taking an evening walk on the terrace, when his foot slipped and the accident happened.
