Shah Jahan Regency, incidentally, is Anirban’s third film with Srijit. He had earlier played important roles in Uma and Ek Je Chhilo Raja. Both films released this year. That aside, Anirban is playing a police officer in Srijit’s new thriller Vinci Da, which will release in 2019.
Shah Jahan Regency is an adaptation of author Mani Shankar Mukherjee’s bestselling novel Chowringhee. The film will hit the theatres on 18 January.
