Anand L Rai Has an Impressive Lineup for 2018

RBN Web Desk: Producer-director Anand L Rai has garnered credibility and appreciation as a filmmaker over the years. The last year was particularly good for him as he hit the jackpot with Shubh Mangal Saavdhan and Newton.

Taking his work further, Anand is all set to collaborate with a number of talented directors and actors in 2018. The year began with a bang, with the teaser release of Zero, his much-awaited film with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Up next is Mukkabaaz which will release on 12 January. The film has been produced by Anand’s company Colour Yellow Productions, and is directed by Anurag Kashyap. Since small-town romances are often the staple of Anand L Rai films, he will release Nimmo, directed by Rahul Shanklya.

Also on the cards is Happy Bhag Jayegi Returns, the sequel to Happy Bhag Jayegi, a major 2016 hit. Sonakshi Sinha plays the lead in the sequel that has been directed by Mudassar Aziz. Happy Bhag Jayegi Returns, according to Anand, promises double the fun.

The Raanjhanaa director will collaborate with Navneet Singh for a new thriller. The film is set in late 18th century and will feature Saif Ali Khan as a bounty hunter. Navneet had earlier directed the thriller NH10, arguably India’s first neo-noir slasher film. Another film with Amit Musurkar—the Newton director—is likely to go on floors in 2018.

All in all, Anand L Rai will be a busy man in 2018.
