RBN Web Desk: Veteran film and TV actress Rita Bhaduri passed away this morning at a suburban hospital in Juhu, following a massive cardiac arrest. She was 62. Rita was best known for her roles in films like Indra Kumar’s Beta (1992) and David Dhawan’s Hero No 1 (1997).
Her niece Mini Bhaduri told the media that Rita was suffering from kidney problems and was in the hospital since the last two weeks. Her organs were affected because of the ailment, she added.
Rita’s last rites will be performed later today.
Actor Sishir Sharma, in a social media post, recalled that he had acted with Rita in the popular TV serial Kumkum where she played his mother. Rita was almost like a mother to the entire unit, Sishir recalled, adding that they bonded well on the sets.
Rita was last seen on the TV show Nimki Mukhiya. She had played major roles in films like Ghar Ho Toh Aisa (1990), Raja (1995), Virasat (1997), Kya Kehna (2000). Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, Kumkum, and Amanat were some of his most popular works on TV.
