Swastika Likely in Third Film with Srijit

RBN Web Desk: Swastika Mukherjee is likely to be seen in her third film with director Srijit Mukherji after Mishawr Rawhoshyo (2013) and Jaatishwar (2014). If industry sources are to be believed, Srijit has offered Swastika the role of Karabi Guha in his adaptation of author Mani Shankar Mukhopadhyay’s novel Chowringhee.

Jaya Ahsan, earlier, was slated to play the role when Srijit announced the film on 29 January. But according to reports, since Jaya is almost locked to play airhostess Sujata Mitra in the new adaptation, Srijit has zeroed in on Swastika to play the high society housekeeper-escort.

Swastika had returned a stellar performance in Jaatishwar. The film emerged the winner in four categories in the 61st National Film Awards.
