Sudeshna-Abhijit Back with Virgin Mohito
RBN Web Desk: Directors Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha, known for their signature buddy films, are back with a new production named Virgin Mohito. The web-series will be broadcast on the on-demand digital entertainment platform.
The series will address the taboos associated with virginity. Paula, the main protagonist, is warned by her mother and grandmother to stay away from boys, before she comes arrives in the city to study. The two women mount the ‘moral’ baggage on her. In Kolkata, Paula meets Mohit at her college. Her friends Neena, Tipsy, and Bhutu help Paula to enter into a relationship with Mohit. What happens next, forms the crux of the story.

Virgin Mohito is a popular mocktail and is widely considered a ‘pure’ beverage. The narrative in the series, according to Sudeshna and Abhijit, addresses the concepts of ‘purity’ that are generally accepted in the society.
The director duo had earlier made the coming of age buddy comedy Teen Yaari Katha in 2012.
Alokananda Roy, June Malia, Anindita Bose, Ushasie Chakraborty, Geetashree Roy, Kaushik Das, Piya Debnath, and Ananya Sen play major roles in the series.
