Speculation Rife on Ambarish Bhattacharya as Jatayu
RBN Web Desk: Speculation is rife in the industry circles that Ambarish Bhattacharya may be cast as Lalmohan Ganguly aka Jatayu in director Pradeep Sarkar’s Hindi adaptation of Sonar Kella. The Hindi Feluda film is unlikely to be a remake of Satyajit Ray’s 1974 hit, as was believed earlier. Rather, it will be a re-adaptation of the text and inspired form the original Bengali film.
Prodosh Chandra Mitter, more popularly known as Feluda, is a fictional Bengali detective created by Ray. It is one of the most-loved characters in contemporary Bengali literature.
Sarkar had secured the Hindi rights from the auteur’s son Sandip Ray last year.

Ambarish told the media that he always wanted to be a part of Sarkar’s film. The director has the Hindi rights of Sonar Kella. He has promised the popular TV and film actor to offer a role that doesn’t require to speak much Hindi. However, the director hasn’t disclosed much details about the role, Ambarish added.
Ambarish is a regular actor in TV commercials directed by Sarkar.
Pulp fiction writer Jatayu was immortalised on celluloid by Santosh Dutta who played the role in Sonar Kella and Joy Baba Felunath (1979). Both films were huge hits and are still loved by the Bengali audience.
