Shagufta Rafique to Debut with Bengali Film

RBN Web Desk: Prominent Bollywood screenwriter Shagufta Rafique is all set to debut as a director with a Bengali film that has Nusrat Jahan and Yash in the lead. Titled Seven, the film is supposed to be a horror flick.

Shagufta is the writer of several successful films in Mumbai and many of them have become major hits. She wrote the screenplay and dialogue of Who Lamhe (2006), Dhoka (2007), Raaz—The Mystery Continues (2009), and Murder 2 (2011) among others. That aside, she wrote the dialogue for Jism 2 (2012), Ankur Arora Murder Case (2013), and Hamari Adhuri Kahani (2015).

Shagufta recently flew down to Kolkata from Mumbai and narrated the script to the production house. The project was finalised at one go.

This is the second time that Nusrat and Yash have been paired in the lead. They had earlier shared screen space in Birsa Dasgupta’s 2017 film One.
