Sanjay Leela Bhansali Interested in My Film: Srijit
RBN Web Desk: That the cast of director Srijit Mukherji’s next film on the famous Bhawal imposter case has been finalised, is old news. The film, titled Ek Je Chhilo Raja, will soon go on the floors and would release during Puja next year.
But according to a leading Bengali news portal, Bengali may not be the only language in which Ek Je Chhilo Raja will be made. Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has shown interest to make the film in Hindi, the portal quoted Srijit as having said. Negotiation for the Hindi version, Srijit said, is underway and may take some time to materialise.
The Yeti Obhijaan director, at the same time, revealed that he has two original Hindi projects in mind though he is yet to start writing the script.
On whether Sanjay Leela Bhansali will do his own research for the film, Srijit said, he is free to do it after buying the Hindi rights. As of now, the film will be made only in Bengali, he added.

Srijit has roped in an impressive cast for Ek Je Chhilo Raja which includes Jisshu Sengupta, Jaya Ahsan, Rudranil Ghosh, Anirban Bhattacharya, Aparna Sen, and Anjan Dutt. Yesteryear actress Indrani Dutta’s daughter Rajnandini Dutta will debut in the film and play the female lead opposite Jisshu.
