4. The panicked hotel staff
So Gaya Yeh Jahan was shot late in the night on the streets of Mumbai. It had rained heavily that day. After the shooting was over, the cast and crew went to a nearby hotel to grab something to eat. They still had their makeup and costumes on. The hotel staff panicked to see them covered in ‘blood’ and asked whether they should call a doctor. They calmed down when the situation was explained to them.
5. Ek Do Teen almost didn’t happen
Compuser duo Laxmikant-Pyarelal wanted to use the tune of a popular Marathi song Jawa Navin Popat Ha for one of the tracks in the films. But they found that that tune was already used by composer Bappi Lahiri in one of Chunky’s earlier hits Paap Ki Duniya (1988). The song in the 1988 film was Main Tera Tota Tu Mera Maina and was sung by Kishore Kumar and S Janaki. Laxmikant-Pyarelal then strummed up an impromptu tune and sent it to songwriter Javed Akhtar to write the song. Akhtar came up with Ek Do Teen.
