Pirated Copy of Bhobishyoter Bhoot Appears Online

Kolkata: Ten days after Bhobishoyter Bhoot was taken off from multiplexes and single screen theatres in the city under instructions from a ‘higher authority’, a pirated copy of the film has now appeared online. Bhobishoyter Bhoot is directed by Anik Dutta.

The pirated copy of the film seems to be shot with a high-definition camera inside a theatre with fairly good sound. The copy was uploaded on to a major video streaming portal on 23 February and is closing in on 4,000 views.

Bhobishoyter Bhoot opened on 15 February but was pulled out within a day, allegedly because of pressure from some political quarters. The film is running only at a theatre in Barrackpore.

Leading actors, theatre activists, and educationists have since protested the withdrawal of the film from the theatres.

Sources told RBN that the makers are taking necessary steps to remove the pirated copy of the film from the internet.
