The Most Authentic Bose Ever?

RBN Web Desk: Filmmaker Hansal Mehta and actor Rajkummar Rao have enjoyed a fruitful liaison since they started working together. Their first collaboration—Shahid—won Rajkummar his first best actor National Film Award. Their second—Aligarh—was brilliant and won critical acclaim for Manoj Bajpayee’s performance.

Now, before the release of Omerta, their third film together, Hansal and Rajkummar are back with a web-series on freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

The D-Day actor plays the charismatic and eponymous Indian resistance leader who fought tooth and nail against the British. Rajkummar slips under the skin of the character and looks strikingly similar to Subhas Chandra Bose.

The second trailer of the web-series—Bose Dead/Alive—was released over the internet on 9 November. Produced by Alt Balaji, the series will start streaming from 20 November.

The trailer is more impressive and elaborate than the first one. The production design is spot on and Rajkummar looks convincing as Bose.

50 Years of Chiriyakhana

The actor had a superlative year so far with Trapped, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and Newton performing well at the box office and receiving critical merit. Rajkummar semi-tonsured his head to look as close as possible to Subhas Chandra Bose.

The web-series is purportedly based on former journalist Anuj Dhar’s book India’s Biggest Cover-up.
