Major Production House May Take Over Two Colors Bangla Serials
RBN Web Desk: Two popular Colors Bangla TV serials that were under the threat of being pulled off air, following the arrest of their producer in a bank fraud case, could be taken over by a leading production house. According to industry sources, the rights handover process of these two serials, have started on a war footing since their episode-bank is nearing exhaustion.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), 15 March, arrested businessmen Shibaji Panja and Koustav Roy for their alleged involvement in a ₹515 crore bank loan default case. Shibaji’s company Vandana Films was the producer of two popular Colors Bangla serials Shubho Drishti and Resham Jhanpi. It was widely speculated that both serials would stop broadcasting with their producer behind bars.
Sidhu to Test Fresh Sound with New Fusion Team
Now, if reports are to be believed, production company SVF has shown interest to take over the rights of Shubho Drishti and Resham Jhanpi. Should this happen, it will come as a huge relief to the cast and crew involved in the production, as they then won’t have to go out of work.
Finally Bhalobasa to Roll in April
The CBI, since yesterday, have started attaching the properties of Shibaji and Kaustav. It’s obvious that Vandana films will be shut down anytime now. Under such circumstances, continuing the broadcast of the two serials, would not be possible.
Sources have informed that a few other production houses have shown interest to take over the rights of Shubho Drishti and Resham Jhanpi.
