Author Dibyendu Palit Dead
Kolkata: Author Dibyendu Palit, one of the most prominent fiction writers in Bengali in the fifties and sixties, has breathed his last. He was 79.
Palit was rushed to a private hospital in south Kolkata yesterday with a lung infection. He passed away today morning. He was not keeping well for some time now because of old-age related complications.

The author began his career as a scribe with a leading English daily. He later moved on to advertising. Palit joined the editorial of the city-based Anandabazar Patrika.
In an illustrious writing career, the author was honoured with the Sahitya Akademi Award, Bankim Purashkar, and Ananda Purashkar.
