Anjan Goes Wife Hunting for Arindam Sil

RBN Web Desk: It’s now a bonhomie of sorts between directors Anjan Dutt and Arindam Sil. A fair exchange has taken place between the two with Anjan handing over the film rights of Durgo Rahasya to Arindam, and the latter offering him a role in Byomkesh Gotro, the adaptation of Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s Byomkesh Bakshi thriller Rokter Daag. Durgo Rahasya was the last Byomkesh story for which Anjan had the filmmaking rights.

It’s now being heard that Arindam Sil is all set to play the role of an abusive but protective husband, who loves and beats his wife in the same vein, in Anjan’s anthology film Finally Bhalobasa. Actor Arjun Chakraborty has already been locked as the third actor in the story that has Arindam as part of the cast.

Anjan, however, is yet to zero in on the actress to play Arindam’s abused wife in Finally Bhalobasa. He had Swastika Mukherjee in mind, but since the actress and Arindam are not exactly on the best of terms, Anjan had to drop the idea.

Swastika had earlier worked with Anjan in Abar Byomkesh (2012), and Byomkesh O Agniban (2017). She is also playing the lead in the director’s upcoming film Aami Ashbo Phirey, slated to release on 27 April.

According to industry sources, Raima Sen has now been offered the role of Arindam’s wife in Finally Bhalobasa, and the actress too has expressed her interest in this regard.

Anjan is presently in Darjeeling on a recce for his film. The role will be locked once he returns to Kolkata.
