Abhijeet Bhattacharya in Legal Trouble

RBN Web Desk: Popular playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has landed himself in a legal trouble after verbally abusing a woman over telephone. A first information report (FIR) has been filed against Abhijeet in this regard at the Amoli police station in Mumbai.

According to reports, the singer has been accused of harassing and using derogatory words against the woman during a telephonic conservation, following which the FIR was filed.

Police told the media that the woman had an altercation with the singer over some drilling work being carried out at the housing society they live. Abhijeet allegedly hurled expletives at the woman during the telephonic conservation.

Abhijeet has been booked under sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (gesture, word, or act carried out to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code.

The singer, however, denied the allegations brought by the woman. Abhijeet alleged that the woman had made an illegal extension on the second floor of the building to which he objected.
