Soumitra Chatterjee Biopic Likely Soon

RBN Web Desk: A biopic on veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee is likely on the cards. Soumitra, one of the most revered actors in India, has worked with all top directors in Bengali cinema. He worked with Satyajit Ray in 14 of the auteur’s films.

Soumitra has reportedly admitted that discussions are underway regarding the biopic. But it’s still far from taking any concrete shape, and a decision is yet to be taken on the cast, he said.

Speculation, however, is rife that actor-director Parambrata Chatterjee may helm the project. Parambrata had earlier shared screen space with the 84-year old actor in films like Nishijapon (2005). He had also directed the Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner in Shonar Pahar (2018).

Reports suggest that the Soumitra Chatterjee biopic may take a long time in the making.
