Yeti Obhijaan Moves to UK
Kolkata: After a successful run in city theatres and elsewhere across India, the hunt for the abominable snowman will now cross the seas to UK. Yeti Obhijaan, directed by Srijit Mukherji, is all set to have its UK premiere in Manchester on 12 November.
The film is the second in the franchise of the hugely popular Santu-Kakababu series written by Sunil Gangopadhyay. The first one, Mishawr Rawhoshyo, released in 2013 and was appreciated by the audience.
Yeti Obhijaan has been one of the biggest grossers this Puja and the film is expected to attract a good audience in Manchester which has a sizeable Bengali population.
The film has been produced by SVF Entertainment and is based on the novel Pahar Churaye Atonko. Made at a budget of ₹6.5 crore, Yeti Obhijaan has already returned ₹8 crore in box office collections, according to industry reports.
The film will be shown at Birmingham, the date of which would be finalised soon.
