Ranjan said that Aha Re will be a food film, which in fact, is a love story with a difference. It doesn’t tread the lines of a typical love story, he added.
Director Arindam Sil’s Swade Ahlade was probably the first food film in Bengali. It released in 2015 but was made for the small screen. Scribe turned director Pratim D Gupta’s Maacher Jhol was the first proper food film. It released last year and was a box office success.
The first phase of Aha Re’s shooting will be held later this month. The next phase is scheduled for March.

His next film, Rong Beronger Kori, is slated to release in March. The film has Chiranjit Chakraborty, Arunima Ghosh, Kharaj Mukherjee, Soham Chakraborty, and Rituparna as part of the cast.
