Wapping Bangladesh Association Emerges Tolly Boy Campaign Winner
London: Wapping Bangladesh Association has emerged the winner of Spread the Joy with Tolly Boy campaign, bagging 6,527 votes. The organisation will receive £10,000 worth of funding which will be spent to improve the quality of life for their members, particularly the vulnerable elderly people living in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
The Nigerian Community in Waltham Forest came second with 6,310 votes and will receive a donation of £5,000 from Tolly Boy. The amount will be used to supplement evening classes, where local youth workers, professional social workers, and celebrities will lecture on a weekly basis regarding the effects and consequences of gang culture.

The Bangladeshi Women’s Association bagged the third position and will now receive a £2,500 donation. The fund will assist in providing employment and training surgeries for BAME women from disadvantaged communities. It will also provide practical office skills training to nurture women into future employment.
The Spread the Joy with Tolly Boy campaign gathered an overwhelming response of 20,301 votes, with projects ranging from healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, childcare, victim support, elderly care and social welfare.
