New Short Film to Pay Homage to Bangladesh Liberation War
London: A girl and a boy of South Asian origin, who have known each other through social media, meet on a date for the first time in London. They spend a lovely time together and share common likes and interests. But soon the conversation turns bitter as truths from the past emerge from beneath the surface. They realise that certain things in life cannot be reconciled as history is a part of every person’s identity.
Aspiring filmmaker Ananya Das has come up with a short film titled Mind the Gap which highlights the effects of historical and political events on people’s lives.

Speaking to RadioBanglaNet, Ananya said, “I have tried to pay homage to the lives lost and the struggle for one’s identity in the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.”
Ananya has lived and worked in Dhaka and is currently researching on the Bengali Identity in Bangladesh and its diaspora in the UK.
