Twinkle Khanna Photo Invites Social Media Outrage

RBN Web Desk: The latest photoshoot of Twinkle Khanna for Vogue India has come under social media scrutiny, where she is seen sitting on a pile of books, with one foot placed on a stool (which Twitteratti thought was another stack of books). The photo outraged the internet, and the actress-turned-author soon clarified, she had put her foot on a stool and not a pile of books.

But the damage was already done before Twinkle could issue the clarification. Some people were particularly scathing in their criticisms.

Twinkle Khanna has written two bestsellers; Mrs FunnyBones (a collection of humour columns which she writes weekly for a popular national newspaper), and the Legend of Lakshmi Prasad (a collection of four stories on feminism).

Daughter of yesteryear actress Dimple Kapadia and wife of actor Akshay Kumar, Twinkle had a fairly successful Bollywood career herself. She has appeared in films like Baadshah, Barsaat, Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai, and International Khiladi to name a few. She has co-produced several films including Tees Maar Khan, Patiala House, Khiladi 786 and others, through her husband’s production house Grazing Goats Pictures.

Twinkle has now launched her own film production company named Mrs Funnybones Movies. The first film under this banner will be Padman, directed by R Balki. The film has Akshay Kumar, Radhika Apte, and Sonam Kapoor in major roles.
