Tridha Choudhury Back on the Bengali Screen
RBN Web Desk: Actress Tridha Choudhury, best known for her role as Rini in director Srijit Mukherji’s 2013 film Mishawr Rawhosyo, is back on the Bengali screen after a break of two years. Mishawr Rawhosyo was Tridha’s debut film.
Tridha will be seen as the central character in Shei Je Holud Pakhi, a new web-series to be broadcast on a popular on-demand digital entertainment platform.
The actress plays Vaidehi, a pop sensation and the lead vocalist of a band called Euthanasia, while Saswata Chatterjee has been cast as senior police officer Somnath Maitra.
According to the story, Somnath had lost her daughter Mitil five years ago, and now wants to connect with her through Vaidehi and the band. He requests Vaidehi to sing one of his daughter’s songs. She promises Somnath to end a concert with the song but falls back on her word. What happens next, forms the plot of the thriller.
Tridha was last seen in director Kamaleshwar Mukherjee’s 2016 romantic thriller Khawto. She had earlier appeared in Kaushik Ganguly’s 2014 film Khaad.
Incidentally, Shei Je Holud Pakhi is a popular track from the self-titled debut studio album of Bengali rock band Cactus. The band’s lead vocalist Siddhartha Ray aka Sidhu has lent his voice to one of the tracks in the upcoming web-series.
Shei Je Holud Pakhi is directed by Anirban Mallik and starts streaming later this month.
The official teaser of the series was launched earlier today.
